Lois Lane is a journalist. Lane works closely with Clark Kent and shares a by-line sometimes. Lane nicknamed Kent "Smallville" after his hometown. Lane often cited trusting her gut instinct, being persistent, and paying attention to the details was her way of getting her stories. She and photographer Jimmy Olsen attended the U.S. Capitol building ceremony honoring the seven super-humans who saved the world from Darkseid. Some time later, Lane intruded on a date between Clark Kent and Diana Prince in a Greek cafe. Once Lane learned it was a date, Lane chided Kent for not taking Prince somewhere posh. The conversation came to an end when Cyborg and Shazam emerged from a Boom Tube outside. Lane excused herself and headed out for a statement from them. During the Atlantean invasion, Lane and Olsen were observing the battle between U.S. Army and the Atlanteans. Soon enough, they gave chase to the duo. Luckily, they were saved by Wonder Woman.

During Intergang's attempted kidnapping of the Mayor at City Hall, Lane was covering a dock fire. Clark Kent was suddenly absent from his desk. White had no choice and dispatched Olsen alone to City Hall to take photographs and gather information. Upon returning to the Planet, Olsen tried to pitch a story focused on the Apokoliptian tech Intergang used but White decided to have Lane write it. Not satisfied with sharing a byline, Olsen fumed as he printed his photographs. Lane returned to the Planet at around lunch time. Olsen decided to talk to Lane after lunch about a follow up to his pitch rather than during an active assignment. He left for the Ace O'Clubs. Lane and Kent later went to Ace O'Clubs for lunch. Lane got a call from Olsen but she could barely hear him because of the Daily Planet's helicopter in the background. He informed her there was a monster attacking the city and it took down half of the Justice League. Perry White assigned both of them to cover the battle. Olsen had Joe land the helicopter outside Ace O'Clubs but noticed Lane was just standing there focused on Superman flying off into battle.
