After rescuing Francine and Rebecca Langstrom in Interlaken, Batman and Robin went to London and stopped off at Wayne Tower. Batman decided to bring Interpol into the case. The next day, he spoke with Nightwing, who was back in Gotham City overseeing Dr. Langstrom. Nightwing apprised him of an oil rig off the Outer Hebrides that was owned by Ra's al Ghul and went active a few weeks ago. Batman realized Robin was gone.

After a bender, John Constantine was suddenly awakened in his London flat by a flurry of images of Los Angeles, overlapping chatter, a female voice that said "Queen of Angels," and a high pitched ringing. Constantine reached for his pack of cigarettes but soon realized there were tons of tiny demons that resembled him. He realized something opened a door between his conscious and subconscious mind and let out his inner demons. He cast a spell and absorbed them back into himself. He collapsed onto the floor but soon got a knock on his door from his estranged friend, Chas Chandler. Constantine lit a cigarette and stated it was never a good time. They headed to a nearby pub. Constantine recalled they hadn't seen each other in 9 or 10 years. Chandler stated the last time was at his wedding when Constantine puked all over Renee Chandler's aunt. Chandler revealed he was separated from her for 7 months and talked about his daughter, Trisha, who was the light of his world. They drove to the London Hospital where she lay in a coma. They discovered her soul was stolen and went to Los Angeles in search of answers.
