Colonel Kane and his daughter Kate Kane live in a posh loft in Gotham City. A week after Bruce Wayne and Robin were rescued from the Sisters of Perpetual Grace convent, Dick Grayson called up Kate Kane to inform her Bruce Wayne didn't want her help after she finished going through a recovered hard drive. She revealed she gave the drive to Batwing. Grayson apologized but Kane assured him it was all right. Suddenly, Colonel Kane's cellphone triggered his brainwashing and he tried to kill her. She took him out with several kitchen implements. After the summit, Kane told her father the brainwashing programming could not be reset after it was broken. He admitted he was proud of her and so was her late mother and twin sister. Renee Montoya rang the doorbell and worried she came too early. Colonel Kane informed her she was on time and invited her in. They sat down and talked.
