Joe Chill is a petty criminal who held up the Wayne Family in Gotham City's infamous Crime Alley. He shot and killed both Thomas and Martha Wayne. He fled the scene as police officers converged on the sounds of the shots. Bruce Wayne knelt by his parents' bodies. In Batman's drug-induced hallucination, caused by the Court of Owls, he relived that fateful night again but instead, Joe Chill morphed into a new Batman, the adult Damian Wayne. While being brainwashed and programmed by the Mad Hatter under Talia's orders, Wayne also relived the night his parents were murdered.
