In a version of the future, Lex Luthor placed a Time Travel Watch on Superboy's wrist and told him the only way he could help them was the make sure all this never happened. The device activated and Superboy vanished just as Luthor was the last to be vaporized by the Lex Drones. Superboy ended up about 20 years into the past. Just after Cyborg Superman was defeated, Superboy got an alert his time travel device was running out of power and had to return him to the future. After saying his goodbyes to Supergirl, Lois Lane, and Superman, he vanished on a note of optimism. Lex Luthor began working on a prototype time travel device for the military to use to defeat their enemies before they could even strike. The Eradicator prototype stole the time travel device worn by a new iteration of Superboy who came to the present to kill Luthor to save the future. He vanished into the time stream and battled countless versions of the Supers, evolving and becoming more powerful. After Eradicator was defeated, Superboy and Supergirl returned to the future.
