Superman responded to an emergency at the Metropolis waterfront. A fire at the Metropolis Adopt-on-a-Yacht event trapped people and dogs. He blew out the fire and lifted the yacht back to land. A white dog took a liking to Superman and licked his chin. Superman asked an adoption agent what their policy was. She told him it was easy and all she needed was government identification. Superman promised to get back to her on that. He couldn't wait to surprise Lois Lane with a pet dog and wanted to name him Bark Kent then changed it to Snowy then settled on Krypto.
