An alien creature was cloned by Project Caliban from Kryptonian DNA recovered from the site of Zero Day. It was Subject B-1Z's constant companion. On one Halloween, the Caliban base was breached by a drone sent by Lex Luthor and a fight broke out. Some time later, the creature encountered Lois Lane in the room where subjects were kept in tanks. Supergirl asked everyone if it was a dog. It fired its freeze breath at Lane was Clark Kent shielded her and was frozen instead. Supergirl kicked the creature. Superman broke free and flew off with Lane. The creature kept up on foot. It later caught up to them after Dr. Binder's grave was found. The sound of the trapped drone caused the clone and creature to run off. Superman freed the drone, unaware of what was going on, and it resumed its assault on the clone and creature. The clone defended the creature from the drone's palm blasts. Superman came to their defense but the drone opted to self-destruct, triggering the base into flooding itself. The clone took the creature and the unconscious Superman to the surface. Supergirl's voice startled him and he took off with the creature with him towards Metropolis.
