Slade Wilson covertly observed Team Seven taking Amazo away in Metropolis. He reported in to Waller. Five days before Christmas, Slade Wilson "commended" DuBois on Team Seven getting to join the big boys and girls and taking over the base from Task Force X. He advised him to enjoy it while he could. DuBois stated he was going to enjoy watching Wilson squirm as he handed over the base, he was going to enjoy his duty, and most all, watching Checkmate lose faith in Task Force X. Wilson managed to plant several explosives all over the base. Wilson detonated several explosives and rocked the base. DuBois deduced General Amanda Waller went with brute force to sabotage Team Seven and make them look weak in front of Checkmate. Agent DuBois and Wilson's battle spilled over into the room where Amazo was being held. He saw Amazo and Clark Kent and reckoned he now had to two messes to fix.
Jimmy Olsen managed to relocate several explosives onto the tower that was generating the Red Sun Omega Field. Wilson triggered them thinking they would blow open his exit but the tower was blown up and the field went down. DuBois ordered all units to fall back and repair the red sun field. He then activated the White Pawn Override program in Amazo. It acknowledged the command. DuBois ordered it to target all non-Team Seven members. It charged Wilson despite its desire not to hurt anyone. Wilson dodged its slash. Wilson's hunch paid off and Waller decided on a divide and conquer strategy. She made a call to her superiors at Checkmate while Wilson was deployed to Area 52 with several X-T 00 Robots to flush out Amazo. He tasked the robots with surrounding the area and making sure no one got out alive. DuBois used his Angel Array and blasted the robot Wilson rode on. He advised Wilson to remind Waller she was replaced. Wilson chided DuBois about Checkmate losing faith hin him then taunted him about showing up without backup to prove himself. DuBois countered he didn't need back up because he didn't bring a sword to a gunfight.
DuBois used Angel Array: Death By A Thousand Cuts. DuBois blew up several robots at once and continued shooting at Wilson. Wilson was amused DuBois was focused on him rather than Amazo. DuBois assured him he had eyes on Amazo. He noted taking out Wilson would improve his life since Waller would crumble without her "support pillar." He used Angel Array: Black Wing Sweep. Amazo blocked the shot from hitting Wilson by using the metal properties of a door and stated fighting should be going on during Christmas. Superman and Amazo used heat vision to force a retreat. Wilson snuck up behind Amazo and shot a hole through his chest point blank. Superman used heat vision and blasted Wilson's weapon out of his hands. Amazo's absorption ability went of control and set off explosions. Wilson hailed Waller and stated he was pulling back.
Season Three
On Halloween night, Wilson asked how the operation went. Luthor stopped watching his drone's feed and reported the drone didn't make it and the footage was compromised and incomplete but it was enough. Wilson asked if he should fetch the drone. Luthor told him to forget about Project Caliban and called it a failure. Wilson was surprised Luthor wanted to go see Hank Henshaw since he needed machines just to breath. Luthor thought he would be perfect for their plan. After Intergang robbed Lexcorp, the fight with Hank Henshaw outside turned into a PR disaster. Superman asked Silver Banshee to hand over the stolen technology and her helmet and she complied. He pointed out how no one had to get hurt. Henshaw disagreed and readied a palm blast. The bystanders recording all of it gasped. Henshaw was suddenly trapped in a laser construct. Slade Wilson ordered him to stand down and Luthor wanted to have a word with him.
Luthor turned off a news flash about the incident and wasn't pleased everyone was afraid of Henshaw. He downplayed it, still calling himself a hero. Luthor emphasized heroes show restraint and with the public against him, they would never be able to replace Superman. Henshaw didn't care what the masses thought since they had the power so he could do what he wanted. He took a step forward but Wilson drew his sword and told him that was close enough. He knocked Wilson away. Wilson donned his armor but was slammed around then thrown into the ceiling. Henshaw was about to punch him but Luthor activated a failsafe that neutralized Henshaw. Luthor stated he had the power and he could take Henshaw's away at anytime.
On November 15th, Henshaw went to see Luthor despite being told to stay in his quarters until further notice. Wilson drew his sword. Henshaw apologized for his actions and told Luthor he was right to remind him of who's in charge. Wilson was incensed Luthor bought it. Luthor was confident a firm hand never failed with types like Henshaw. Wilson pointed out he was one of those types and Henshaw tried to kill him. Luthor called it just a blip. Henshaw lingered and scanned the failsafe trigger. He later returned and told Luthor he forgot about the food chain and where Luthor fell in it. Luthor went for the trigger but Henshaw made it implode. He tried to run but Henshaw took control of two Lex drones who grabbed him. Wilson rubbed it in. Henshaw declared there was no "we" and flicked Luthor through a glass door while telling him to remember the food chain. Wilson and Luthor took the elevator to the lobby. Wilson continued to rub it in about "the blip." Luthor assumed that made them even but Wilson teased they were getting there.
Lois Lane suddenly drove Pa Kent's truck into the lobby, called out to Luthor to his horror, then ran out and decked him. Wilson confirmed they were now even. She grabbed Luthor by the collar and ordered him to shut Hank Henshaw down. He refused. She wondered what was wrong with him. Luthor claimed she got to do whatever she wanted and twice now assaulted him because Superman is always protecting her. He asked who protected the rest of them then said they have to live in fear of their alien boyfriend. The building felt a rumble from the battle between Superman and Cyborg Superman. She asked him if he felt safer then asked him what he thought would happen once Henshaw was done with Superman, more specifically who he would go after next. Luthor thought about it and relented. They went up to his office. He managed to shut down the drones and Henshaw's connection to them but he still had three barriers to clear. Henshaw flew to them and called Luthor a weasel. Luthor ran from his desk and placed Lane in front of him. Lane tried to reason with Henshaw but he refused. From a construction site, Superboy chucked pipes at Henshaw.

After Superman defeated Hank Henshaw in the present, the future Superboy jumped 20 years from had changed. In the absence of Cyborg Superman, Lex Luthor came to power and assumed the title of High Commander. A captured Superboy was brought to High Commander Luthor by Slade Wilson, who wore upgraded armor. Luthor gave his regards to Superboy's mother then shared he heard Superboy was trying to travel back to the past and wondered where he even got that idea from.
