Doris went on a spree mutating people with genetic manipulation but she was able to conceal her identity. She was dubbed "The Distortionist" by the press. Perry White assigned Jimmy Olsen to investigate but he brushed it off to go to a W.O.R.M.S. matchmaking launch event. Doris happened to be in attendance too and was scientifically matched to Olsen. She knew who Olsen was and that he was a friend of Superman. She told Olsen she was dying to meet him and was so interested in his body then slid across the table to him. Olsen was flustered. Doris asked him specifically how much he had been exposed to Kryptonite and if he noticed any affects. Olsen didn't really notice any. She told him her name was "Doris" but friends called her "Gigi." He joked friends called him "Jimmy." She told him she was looking for an open minded person. Olsen quickly replied that was him. She admitted she tended to change people. Olsen said he was open to change. She was pleased and sprayed the air then told him she was just setting the mood. She asked him if he had been to space and was affected by that then fed him a cube of chocolate. She asked about interdimensional travel. He replied he hadn't recently then she poked his hand.
Olsen thought it was going well and was on his way to making Supergirl jealous but was totally oblivious to the fact that he was changing into a werewolf. Doris asked him to tell her more about himself. Olsen talked about how he did investigative journalism for the Daily Planet and he was supposed to be looking for The Distortionist. She was intrigued. Olsen vowed he would find him and nothing ever got past him. Olsen finally noticed his transformation. Tazzala, the chief biologist at W.O.R.M.S., eventually restored him to normal. Doris was cuffed. She became enraged and declared if she couldn't have him, no one could. She broke the restraint and sprayed herself. She began to quickly grow in stature. She clarified he could call her "Giganta." Olsen told her they could still be friends. She exclaimed she came to W.O.R.M.S. to fall in love, not to make friends. She grabbed him and ran across the city. They happened to pass by his apartment window. Olsen told Clark Kent it was an emergency.
Lois Lane and Kara Zor-El sat on a bench and observed Giganta run past with Olsen screaming for help. Zor-El didn't believe she could find a date that big. Lane told her that was not winning. Giganta wanted to start over, make Olsen gigantic, too, and if he hated it, they would call it quits. Olsen realized she was "The Distortionist" but she mused she wasn't into labels. She scaled the Daily Planet building to the roof. Superman was unable to extricate Olsen without hurting him. Olsen implored him to try. Zazzala, CEO of W.O.R.M.S., announced there was good news. Olsen asked if she could save him. Zazzala clarified she and Tazzala were getting back together. He congratulated them. Zazzala apologized again about everything, including melting his endoskeleton by accident. Superman was confused. Olsen was annoyed Superman didn't listen the first time he told him about it.
Superman asked the couple if they could affect Giganta's endoskeleton. Zazzala replied they would do anything for love. Superman asked them to follow him to the roof. Superman ran interference while Zazzala sneaked up behind Giganta and injected the endoskeleton dissolving agent into the back of her neck. Giganta took insult to it and shrank back to her normal size. Superman caught her as she fell from the roof. She hugged his arm and noted how gentle and kind he was. Superman stated he was in a committed relationship. She passed out.
