Dr. Ivo is the CEO of AmazoTech, the company responsible for Amazo phones, computers, security like the Amazo Panic Room, and anything else you can think of. A boy genius, at a young age of 21, he disrupted the way people interact with techonology. He was rumored to have used criminal connections to displace a whole neighborhood for his company headquarters and caused accidents that always seemed to hit his competitors. In reality, Ivo was a two-faced, fast talking, egomaniac. At one point, it was rumored AmazoTech partnered with the military for a secret project. Incorporating technology from that project, Dr. Ivo and his assistant Alex created the Parasite 1.0, a bio-tech armor that absorbed energy and could fight someone like Superman toe-to-toe. Considered to be Metropolis's most eligible bachelor, Ivo was selected by Cat Grant for a Daily Planet interest piece. Interns Lois Lane, Clark Kent, and Jimmy Olsen were dispatched to a gala held at Ivo Tower thrown by Ivo for his investors to collect quotes and photographs for Grant's article.
At the gala, Ivo planned to unveil AmazoTech's latest invention the Parasite 1.0. Curtis, one of the members of the Board of Directors, reminded Ivo they were voting that night and could not be held off any longer. Ivo insisted the new technology would solve the company's problems. Curtis stated it would not change anything because the latest profit numbers were non-existent. Ivo refused to accept he could be voted out his own company and stated he was AmazoTech. Curtis countered he was broke. Ivo grabbed him by the collar and insisted the grand unveiling of the new product would redefine humanity and the money problems could go away. He asked Curtis to keep the Board happy until the end of the night. Clark Kent introduced himself. Ivo put on his facade again and noted how big Kent was then playfully punched his chest but hurt his fist.
Ivo realized he was sent by Cat Grant. He offered to give Kent the details for her article and for forgetting what he overheard, would introduce him to the gala's finer bachelorettes. Ivo saw Lois Lane drop a strawberry on her top then eat it and was grossed out. Kent took offense and asked him about a real estate deal connected to the Gazzo Crime Family that displaced an entire neighborhood for AmazoTech and then asked for a comment on the investigation of the fire that took down his other competitors. Ivo was amused and decided to have him moved to the press section. Security escorted Kent to a side door and threw him onto a pile of trash bags in an alley outside. Angered by pressure from the Board and being embarrassed by Kent, Ivo ignored Alex's warnings about out of control aggression and wore the Parasite 1.0 prototype. He proclaimed he would shut everybody up.
Ivo rose upstairs to the stage and told his guests Metropolis was once the safest city in America but was now in the midst of a crime wave unlike anything ever seen before. He turned to Superman and shaded him as someone to be wary of because he offered his help for free and the only person you could trust was yourself. Ivo then presented the Parasite as a way to become your own Superman. He looked around the crowd for a volunteer and chose Curtis. He sped towards him at super speed, grabbed him and shoved him through the glass window. Ivo dangled Curtis then threw him to lure Superman into the tower. Alex activated a force shield in the room to bar anyone else from fleeing the demonstration. Superman countered Ivo's attack with a gut punch but the Parasite absorbed the kinetic energy and the suit got larger and stronger. Superman tried heat vision but the Parasite absorbed it and Ivo fired it back at Superman. Ivo declared he built AmazoTech and deserved more. He threw a civilian at the field but Superman saved him then pulled Ivo back by the Parasite's tail and threw him on his back.
Ivo demanded "more" and tackled Superman into the field. Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen overpowered Alex and turned off the force field. Ivo cried fowl. Superman switched his strategy to only dodging his attacks. The Parasite began to weaken and regress. Ivo's body was mangled and disfigured by the process. Superman quickly ripped the armor off him and turned him over to a paramedic. Ivo blamed Superman for being ruined and asked what his angle was. Superman implored him to look around and asked him if it really was that hard to believe that some people just wanted to help. Task Force X investigated Area 52 after some old techology pinged them. The General took Dr. Ivo, with a shock collar affixed to his neck, to the Black Hole generator room and stated he wanted his opinion on the tech. Ivo teased why a humble kidnapped billionaire wanted like he would put his brilliant mind to work. The General reminded Ivo they wanted the same thing: to take down Superman. To rip him from the sky, bury him so deep the world won't even remember his name. Ivo laughed and was sure he could work with what was present then asked when he started.
