Fron Squerd grew up with an increased lung capacity and dreamed of joining the Legion of Superheroes. Teating his powers, Squerd discovered he could hold his breath for days, weeks, and months. As Breath Boy, he applied for membership during Try-Outs. During one of Bouncing Boy's seminars, Breath Boy volunteered to demonstrate his power. However, due to the threat of the Furries, Breath Boy was left alone. He was later rejected because his power had to offensive capability.
