Jenni Ognats was born on Aarok and is the descendant of Barry Allen, a 20th century superhero. However, she never manifested super speed. When she, her brother, and her father were kidnapped by Dominators, Ognats power activated and she saved them. The Aarokian government drafted her to join the Legion of Superheroes. She was accepted and took the codename XS.
