Sussa Paka was born on Earth but was recruited to Taltar to be their champion. After submitting to the Taltar matriarchs' bioengineering, she received the ability to animat her hair and use it as a weapon. As Wave, she left Taltar to pursue her own life.
Wave later joined the Light Speed Vanguard. She was then caught by the Legion of Superheroes and imprisoned on Takron-Galtos. She later joined in the mass scale prison riot and attacked Legion Headquarters only to be caught again.
