M'ten, of the planet Tyr, is a Green Lantern stationed on the edge of Frontier Space. He was ambushed by Zilius Zox and Razer while responding to a false distress call in space. Zox killed him and M'ten's power ring went on an 18 month journey to Oa. Once the ring arrived, Hal Jordan was adamant action be taken immediately. Ultimately, M'ten's death prompted Jordan and Kilowog to take matters into their own hands and travel to Frontier Space to investigate the deaths of Green Lanterns.
