Cerberus is a multi-headed dog assigned to guard the gateway of Tartarus and to prevent those who have crossed the River Styx from ever escaping. Cerberus is the son of Echidna, a half-woman, half-serpent and Typhon, a fire-breathing giant. It is said the three-heads each respectively see and represent the past, the present and the future, while others believe the heads represent birth, youth and old age. Each of Cerberus' heads is said to have an appetite only for live meat and thus allow the spirits of the dead to freely enter the underworld, but allow none to leave. In the Flashpoint timeline, Cerberus was incorporated in the Amazon invasion of the United Kingdom. Some time later, Cerberus aided a unit of Amazons searching for Lois Lane. In the final battle between Amazons and Atlanteans, Cerberus swallowed Aquaman whole. Aquaman killed Cerberus from within and sliced his way out.
