Oliva revealed the opening scene was similar to the CW live action series and comics when young Barry runs into the house past the yellow tape and sees his mother being zipped up by the coroner then he dramatically screams out "No!" Oliva felt it needed more emotional impact so he made it seem like up until that point it was Barry's best day ever and didn't expect anything bad.
