The Boom Tubes are teleportation devices that can go anywhere. Years ago, Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, hijacked the Tubes on Earth and invaded with his army. The world's heroes nearly lost the battle but saved the day. As a safety precaution, Principal Waller was given sole access to the five Boom Tubes. They were stored in a room at Super Hero High School lined with super proof steel. The passcode to the room is 1938. Each Tube is pre-programmed for Skartaris, Atlantis, Korugar, Apokolips, and Florida. Granny Goodness needed access to the Tubes to bring her Female Furies to Earth so she sent her pet Parademon Perry but he wasn't strong enough to bend the steel. The Metropolis Junior Detective Society launched an investigation into identifying the perpetrator. Three weeks later, Supergirl accidentally set off the room's alarm while looking for her dorm. Waller showed her around since she missed the Freshman Tours. The junior detectives, Flash, Hawkgirl, and Bumblebee, found a plant - literally and figuratively.
Poison Ivy confirmed it was a piece of bamboo, something Vice Principal Grodd often ate for lunch. About a week later, Perry made another attempt and left slash marks on the doors. Flash attempted to pull prints off the doors but he heavily suspected Grodd. The junior detectives presented their case to Waller. As she reviewed it, she revoked Grodd's security clearance but he quit in a rage. After a failed Save the Day outing, Supergirl decided to take the next space ship off Earth to Korugar Academy. Granny Goodness manipulated Supergirl into breaking into the Boom Tube room and taking the Tube to Korugar instead. Granny promised to lock the room up before anyone noticed. Supergirl easily breached the doors with her super strength and Perry destroyed the security console. Granny initiated her true plans and opened the portal to Apokolips. Granny's Female Furies crossed over. Big Barda easily dispatched Supergirl with a chunk of Kryptonite and left her in the room.
Barbara Gordon heard about the Save the Day response and searched for Supergirl. She communicated over their friendship bracelets' comm link. Gordon found Supergirl and tossed the Kryptonite into the portal to Florida. Gordon and Supergirl used a De-Trancer to neutralize the hypnotic frequency Granny used on everyone at Super Hero High. The student body rallied and saved the day. Vice Principal Grodd did the honors and threw Granny, the Furies and the Perrys into a Boom Tube set for Belle Reve Penitentiary and Juvenile Detention Center. The following semester, Principle Waller had Professor Etrigan take a Boom Tube to a safe location until she could officially work out a treaty with Trigon. Lashina took a Boom Tube to Belle Reve Penitentiary in her tank to free the Female Furies but she was forced to escape when Frost, Katana, and Big Barda intervened. Lashina was eventually able to free all of the Furies and they took a Boom Tube back home to Apokolips. Darkseid generated a Boom Tube to escape Earth after Harley Quinn, Raven, Batgirl, Bumblebee, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Katana defeated him and altered the Anti-Life Equation.
