Every age is said to contain an incarnation of the Royal Flush Gang. These villains often come together for the shared goal of stealing money. The gang fashions themselves with a certain suit from the playing card deck: Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, or Clubs.
In the 1800's, a Royal Flush Gang with the Diamond insignia formed in the Wild West. After a bounty was placed for their capture, the Gang was pursued by Jonah Hex after a failed bank robbery. They overpowered Hex and were about to execute him but Batman intervened and helped round up each of the four members.
