Ace is the leader of the 1800's incarnation of the Royal Flush Gang. When his Gang captured Jonah Hex, Ace decided to use a rather gruesome practice of execution common to the Wild West. He tied a rope to four horses and in turn tied each rope to one appendage of Jonah Hex. When the horses were startled, Hex would be pulled apart. Luckily, Batman intervened and helped defeat Ace and the Gang.
