After his daughter Barbara was kidnapped by Phosphorous Rex, Lieutenant Gordon later inspected her bedroom. Upon looking at her bat decoration, Gordon rigged the Batsignal to call upon Batman. Just as Gordon was about to leave, Batman made his presence known and noted he liked the invention. Gordon refused to admit he was on the same side as Batman and only needed his help this one time. Gordon used it once more when William Benjamin was found wondering around and muttering his mind was in control of Cypher. Alfred Pennyworth mused there had to be less obvious form of communication.
