The Bat-Phone, or simply The Communicator, is a cell phone Batman gave to James Gordon for direct contact. Just after Gordon put in a purchase order for a salvage operation, Batman called the phone. Annoyed at Batman's uncanny punctuality, Gordon reminded Batman he could track the signal. Batman countered the phone would self-destruct he could trace the call. Gordon quickly threw the phone into a dumpster, where it exploded.
