Gogo Shoto is a video game designer and head of Angry Sasquatch, a video game company based in Gotham City. Considered a hotshot in his field, Shoto is famous for his open world games that allow players to push the boundaries of human experience. Some even consider him a true artist, as a result. One of his game franchises was called "Armageddon Days." On the night of November 1st, Shoto was in the midst of debugging his next video game. Despite the secrecy surrounding it, the game was revealed to feature Batman. Shoto noticed there was still the throwing animation to smooth out and response flutter to deal with. Ana, his secretary, informed him she was checking out for the day. Shoto elected to stay and continue debugging. He was surprised when Ana returned to his office and began flirting with him. He suspected something then she lifted him up off his feet. He smacked her with his virtual reality mask but she wasn't hurt. Shoto scrambled and narrowly avoided her agile attacks. He entered the main office area and hid behind some cubicles.

Shoto tripped over the real Ana, lying unconscious on the floor, and made a dash for the server room. He sealed the room and went to the control panel. He altered the signage outside to show a giant bat emblem. The fake Ana punched her way into the server room and grabbed Shoto. Batman arrived and the fake Ana revealed herself to be Clayface. Clayface created a diversion and caused a truck to crash. In the confusion, Clayface went down a manhole with Shoto. Shoto regained consciousness in a rundown building on the Gotham Boardwalk. He was surrounded by Clayface, Scarecrow, Silver Banshee, Solomon Grundy and the Joker. The Joker had him build a computer virus that would allow him to take over Gotham's technology. Naturally it had to be in his image and was named the Digital Laughing Virus. After the Joker took over the city, Batman and his allies eventually figured out he was hiding out on the Boardwalk. They staged an assault. Red Robin found Cyborg in a stasis pod and Shoto bound and tied up.

Red Robin removed the tape over his mouth. Shoto tried to warn him about Clayface but it was too late. During the scuffle, Robin was shoved into some crates. He looked up and saw two Gogo Shotos. To figure out who was who, he asked how to kill the flamethrower zombie boss in "Armageddon Days 4." Shoto quickly answered to use sniper rifle. Clayface had enough and revealed himself. Red Robin tossed some exploding gas balls in his mouth and he fell over. Red Robin then asked how to get across the minefield in level nine. Shoto chided him then advised him to trade his explosive munitions for the map in the canteen. As the heroes reunited and restrained the Joker's allies, Robin tended to Shoto. However, the Joker returned and sent the virus-controlled Ace, Batmobile, Batplane, and Cyborg after Batman and the others.

Red Robin gave Shoto a set of instructions to meet him at a specific time and place then gave him a hoverboard to use. They later met up. Red Robin blindfolded Shoto then took him to the Batcave. With little time to bask in its awe, Shoto went to the Batcomputer. He went to work building an interface to physically hack the artificial intelligence stolen to deliver Joker's virus. He also gave Batman a virtual reality mask fashioned as a domino mask so he could enter the artificial intelligence world. Batman succeeded but the Joker had a second transmitter. With less than three minutes left, Batman contacted Shoto. Shoto speculated Joker would need a boosted quantum computer to transmit the virus. Batman realized Cyborg was the transmitter. Cyborg found the stolen Inca Rose Stone was embedded inside his left arm. Shoto dissuaded him from simply removing the stone and risk triggering the virus. He advised Cyborg to connect the stone to the central core of Joker's battlesuit in order to inititate a feedback that would safely shut everything down.
