The Single Operator Drilling Mech is Wayne Enterprises' successor to its long-produced drilling sledge. Designed for exploration and extraction during Dr. Langstrom's term as head of Wayne Enterprises' Research and Development Department, the mech was presented during the new technology showcase. He prompted the pilot to demonstrate the mech's plasma pincers. It turned a boulder into lava then safely passed its pincer through and pulled out a large diamond. Langstrom concluded by sharing his hope to have the mech used to explore the core of the planet and even other planets. He believed its potential was nearly endless. Batman and Green Arrow individually hired Langstrom to build them personal mechs, leading to the creation of the Bat Mech and Arrow Mech.
