The Midas Heart is a famous asteroid with a solid gold core that passes the Earth once every 77 years. The Penguin invested seven years and all of his inheritance to devise a plan to mine the asteroid of its core. He built the Aviary, a plush condominium tower, and an antenna on the roof would fire a tractor beam to alter the Midas Heart's path. 12 locations around the Aviary would serve as sites for force field transmitters that once all in place and activated, would form a force field around the Aviary. Through Bumbershoot Mechanics, the Penguin created a line of unmanned robotics called the Cyber-Animals. The Midas Heart would crash into Gotham City and cause mass destruction. The Cyber-Animals would dig through the rubble of the city and find the solid gold core. The Penguin would become insanely rich. Batman and his allies foiled his plans and saved the city from the Midas Heart by covering all of Gotham with the force field. The asteroid crashed into the field and safely bounced off into the ocean.
