The Batmobile is the primary vehicle of Batman. A highly modified car, the Batmobile is equipped with state of the art automotive upgrades, tools, and weapons. Batman can remotely summon the Batmobile with a remote. In the finale of the battle with the Animilitia at the Gotham Zoo, Batman brought the Batmobile in and drove off. The Blade Wolf and Tiger Claw, and later Fire Bat, gave chase. Nightwing diverted Batman to a construction site on 23rd. The Batmobile fired on a load of girders held by a crane placed in position by Nightwing. Blade Wolf was buried and then taken out by Nightwing. Tiger Claw continued chasing until the Flash lured it into a wall at high speed. In a battle against Solomon Grundy, Batman used his visor's Batcom uplink to remotely activate the Capture Claw on the front end of the Batmobile. The Batmobile drove through a building window and pinned Grundy to the exterior of the Gotham National Bank. It gripped tighter on Grundy until he dropped a vault door on his head and knocked out.
Batman chased the Penguin and his henchman in the Batmobile after a big heist. Forced to deal with the henchmen first, Batman dodged their rocket propelled grenades then fired a missile into their transport's rear tires. As the truck overturned, Batman drove under it and neared Penguin's Ice Truck. He dumped his load of ice blocks but Batman cleared them with the Batmobile's Capture Claw then flipped the truck over. On Halloween night, Batman and Red Robin pursued Solomon Grundy and Silver Banshee in the Batmobile. Banshee sealed off a tunnel with a minor cave-in. Batman activated a drill that emerged from the front of the Batmobile. By the time they cleared a path, it was too late. A few days later, at the Gotham Museum, the Joker and Clayface interrupted a gala opening to steal the Inca Rose Gem. Nightwing and Green Arrow, in the Batmobile, chased the Joker and fought off Scarecrow's convoy. They swerved to avoid the Joker's missiles.
Once the Joker took over the city with his Digital Laughing Virus, the Batmobile nailed Ace then crashed into a building. Joker later sent Ace, the Batmobile, the Batplane and Cyborg after Batman and his allies during a confrontation on the Gotham Boardwalk. The Batmobile went after Batman. Upon crashing through a construction zone, Batman went into a tight alley as the Batmobile fired missiles at him. He dropped down a manhole and tossed a Batarang to slice the Batmobile's underside as it passed overhead. He sparked the oil slick it left behind and the flame spread to the Batmobile and detonated. After the Jokertown incident, Batman chased Joker in the Batmobile initially after a robbery at Gotham National Bank. Batman chased after Clayface in the Batmobile after he robbed a money transfer at Gotham National. During a lengthy chase, Batman activated the Batmobile's array of Freeze Missiles and used its Hover Jets to follow Clayface from road to road until he was captured.
The new Robin was eager to drive the Batmobile but Batman only told him he would in time. During the Penguin and Mr. Freeze's assault on Gotham, Batman and Robin discovered a giant Killer Croc. Batman fired missiles from the Batmobile at Croc but they were ineffectual. Croc picked up the Batmobile then threw it. Batman activated a new feature and the Batmobile morphed into the Batplane. They assaulted Chemo in the harbor but were forced to land and shift back to the Batmobile. Clayface found them and attacked but he mutated due to an unstable reaction to the monster Venom. Batman came up with a new plan and left on the Batcyle. Robin was left with the keys to the Batmobile and the assignment of distracting Clayface. Robin turned it into the Batplane and fired missiles at Clayface. Eventually, Clayface clocked the Batplane. Robin made a rough landing and reverted the plane back to the Batmobile then met up with Dr. Kirk Langstrom.
Dr. Langstrom added modifications to the newest Batmobile. It could swap parts on the run with the Batplane through its touch screen. The Batmobile could borrow the Batplane's thrusters or wings or could lend its blasters to the Batplane. With both the thrusters and wings, the Batmobile can take flight.
