Ace is the first Blade Wolf Cyber-Animal that Batman encountered at S.T.A.R. Labs, where it planted a force field transmitter, and escaped capture by overturning a big rig truck. It and a Tiger Claw pursued Batman from the Gotham Zoo. At a construction site on 23rd, Nightwing dangled a stack of girders for Batman to shoot down with the Batmobile. The girders landed on Blade Wolf. Nightwing knocked it offline with his electric baton. Once the Cyber-Animals were taken to the Batcave, Dr. Langstrom helped the heroes understand and hack the robots.
At the Aviary showdown, Batman summoned the hacked wolf he named Ace. Ace jumped from the crowd and morphed into a motorcycle. Batman leaped on and led the robots on a chase to stall for time while Flash brought the force field down and Red Robin uploaded a computer virus into the Cyber-Animals. Ace and a hacked Tiger Claw took down the remains of the Animilitia after the Penguin fled the city. Red Robin jumped on a hacked Fire Bat and challenged Batman and Ace to a race back to the Batcave. Batman later used Ace, in Batcycle mode, to catch up to the Flash and Cheetah after a robbery at the Gotham National Bank. He freed the Flash from hardened cement then took down Cheetah in a tunnel. Ace later helped Batman respond to a break in at the Gotham National Bank and rounded up one of the three bank robbers after he tried to shoot. Ace came to Batman's aid at the Gotham Zoo and shielded him from the Penguin's hail of bullets. He detached his tail and sent it to Batman as the Bat Sword. After Penguin was defeated, the tail returned to Ace and it howled in victory.
On the night of November 1st, Batman went on patrol with Ace, in Batcycle mode. While talking to Alfred Pennyworth, Batman noticed his emblem appeared on the Angry Sasquatch building. After failing to capture Clayface, Batman returned to Ace and caught up to the Joker's ice cream truck. Ace went ahead while Batman glided in from above. Joker was unimpressed with Ace and tossed explosives at it. Joker opted to drive off the highway prompting Ace to turn back in the Batcycle. Batman and Ace continued to pursue but they were knocked over by Solomon Grundy. The next night, after a gala at the Gotham Museum was disrupted by the Joker and Clayface, Batman took to Ace again. However, Ace was infected by the Digital Laughing Virus and went offline. It crashed into the Batmobile and started laughing. It later was summoned by Joker to attack Batman and his allies during a raid on the Gotham Boardwalk. Ace went after Green Arrow. Arrow led it on a chase across a defunct roller coaster.
Amid some tents, Arrow severed the ropes holding a miniature rocket. It landed just as Ace pounced at Arrow. Ace went offline once more. Ace trained with Batman in the Batcave and caught Batarangs he threw around. Soon, it became a competition between Ace and CybeRex but they made amends over a belly rub. Ace came to Batman's aid in chasing down the Joker after he robbed a Gotham National Bank. Ace transformed into his cycle form then grabbed the rear of Joker's Gorilla Cycle with its tendrils. Joker was ejected from the cycle and landed in several trash bags.
