Killer Croc is a man affilicted with a disease that mutated him into a reptile. Sporting an iron jaw, Croc is a physical powerhouse. He became a constant foe of Batman and his partners. Killer Croc and Cheetah escaped Arkham Asylum and went on a crime spree together. At some point, they were recruited by the Penguin to join his Animilitia team. About three months after his escape, Killer Croc robbed the Central City Copper Quarry. The Flash began tracking Croc's movements. The next week, in Gotham City, Croc joined Cheetah at the Jewelry Store by tunneling through the floor. He took on Nightwing and prompted Cheetah to finish the mission. Unable to take on Croc alone, Nightwing triggered the store's alarm. The Flash responded. Croc took out Flash and fled the scene. Nightwing uploaded footage of the battle to Batman's subnet. Batman noted the copper quarry wasn't Croc's usual M.O. but Nightwing brushed it off as the Midas Heart making everyone crazy.

At the Gotham Zoo break-in, Killer Croc entered the reptile house in hopes of Batman following. Green Arrow came instead. Arrow's attacks did little against Croc's impervious skin and he soon charged the hero. Croc broke out a net arrow and tied Green Arrow up in the remnants. Somehow, Arrow used only his feet and mouth to draw his bow and shoot a knockout gas arrow right into Croc's mouth. Croc passed out and landed on top of Arrow. After Man-Bat freed everyone, Croc hitched a ride with him and fled the scene. At Bumbershoot Mechanics, Croc and Nightwing had a rematch. Nightwing was too agile and dodged Croc's attacks until Penguin tasered him. Croc threw Nightwing out a window. The Flash arrived on scene, ran up the side of the building, and saved Nightwing. Croc flew off with Penguin using his trick umbrella. At the Aviary, Croc helped finish building the tractor beam console and fired on the Midas Heart asteroid. The hacked Blade Wolf and Tiger Claw made short work of Croc. While being loaded into a police van, Croc lamented the terrible food that awaited him.

Red Robin and Nightwing pursued Killer Croc in sector 12. After Nightwing tasered him, Croc ran and found a manhole cover. He tossed it at the heroes and descended into the sewers. While Red Robin and Nightwing were overwhelmed by the stench, two crocodiles dove at them from behind. Croc's trap fell apart once Batman burst through a wall and knocked out the beasts. He supplied Nightwing and Red Robin breather masks. Red Robin tossed smoke screen balls at Croc then Nightwing took off and knocked Croc out with a running flying kick. Croc was imprisoned in Arkham Asylum. At some point, he stopped wearing the metal jaw. Croc and Bane had a known rivalry but it escalated when he also sold out Bane to the police supposedly. Croc was the third villain freed by Penguin and Mr. Freeze due to his unique physiology. However, the grudge between Bane and Croc still lingered. Penguin broke them up and reiterated they needed to leave before Batman arrived. Batman, Robin, and Green Arrow arrived but they managed to escape capture.

Killer Croc was still skeptical of Freeze's part and asked Penguin to level with him. Penguin admitted to Croc he thought Freeze was a loony with a monster-size ego but was also a genius. Robin deduced the strength of Croc's constitution made him an ideal test subject. Freeze successfully created a new Monster Venom then injected Croc with it. It worked and Croc turned into a giant. He arose in Gotham Harbor, drank some of its waters, and exhaled ice breath upon Gotham City. Robin sighted Croc passing by the Jewelry Store. Likewise, Croc spotted the Batmobile and pursued them. The Flash arrived but slipped on some ice into a dumpster. Croc picked up the Batmobile and tossed it. Luckily, the Batmobile now had an option to turn into the Batplane. The giant Killer Croc continued marching through Gotham. Citizens evacuated the area as a news report verified the sudden freezing conditions were the result of an attack by supervillains and a giant monster. Croc continued to breath ice breath over the city as he passed a Gotham National Bank. Flash and Nightwing saved several citizens that were dangerously close to Croc.

Croc eventually reached the Gotham City Police Department Headquarters. He easily took down the tanks stationed outside the building and froze them. Croc prepared to demolish the building but Commissioner Gordon shined the Batsignal projector into his face. Caught offguard, Croc blindly swung around. Flash and Nightwing took the officers and Gordon off the roof just in case as Croc destroyed the projector. After Bane took the Monster Venom, he decided to settle the long standing score and attacked Croc. He eventually gained the upper tail on Bane. Soon after, the Bat Mech arrived and charged Croc. Bane recovered and attacked the Mech as well. Bat Mech blasted Bane with missiles then tossed Croc, decked him, then picked him up by the tail and slammed him into the ground. Unconscious, Croc started to shrink back down to normal size. The police took him into custody.

The giant Killer Croc literally walked into a Gotham National Bank branch and ripped out its vault. As he attempted to leave the area, the Arrow Mech launched a flash bomb arrow at him and attacked. Croc managed to swing his tail and knock the mech on his back but the Bat Mech arrived and swung him around by the tail. The Arrow Mech recovered and knocked Croc out with a right punch. Croc chased after Batman, in the Batplane, chomping at him and damaging buildings in his wake. Batman hailed Nightwing. They quickly made their way to each other and tricked Croc and Chemo into crashing right into each other. Croc attacked an aircraft carrier in the Gotham City Harbor and destroyed a few jets before the Bat Mech arrived. After taking several hits from the Mech, Croc surfaced behind the Mech and pinned it underwater. He then ripped a thruster off but the Mech activated its other one and surfaced. Croc backed off then threw the loose thruster at it. To his surprise, the Mech caught it. He charged. Mech attached the loose thruster to his arm then reactivated it. The power of the thrust allowed the Mech to punch Croc out.

Croc and five punks broke into the Gotham Museum and began stealing artifacts from their displays. Batman watched them from up above and dispatched the punks with a specialized Batarang and one punch. Croc quickly injected himself and grew huge. He wrecked parts of the museum then erupted through the entranceway in pursuit of Batman. Batman threw his Batarang but Croc swatted it. Batman hit the center buckle of his belt just before Croc grabbed him. The Batarang returned to Batman and turned into a powerful taser gun. Batman electrocuted Croc and knocked him out. Batman landed on his head. Croc and Bane teamed up for an assault on Arkham Asylum. After Bat Mech took out Bane, Croc quickly tossed it to the ground and attacked but Arrow Mech intervened. As Croc braced himself for its charge, the Bat Mech arose and held him in place. The Arrow Mech knocked him out.
