Chemo is a giant artificial creation composed of highly acidic and volatile chemicals with super strength and near invulnerability. It can also spew chemical blasts from its mouth. At some point, it was captured and imprisoned in Arkham Asylum. Penguin and Mr. Freeze freed Chemo during their break-in. Chemo's sludge was combined with Bane's Venom and Clayface's mud to create a Monster Venom capable of transforming suitable subjects into giants. After a giant Killer Croc marched into the city, Chemo emerged from the harbor and utilized a new arm cannon on its right arm to continue freezing Gotham. Batman and Robin sighted Chemo in the Batplane and launched several missiles. They did little and Chemo ignored them. Batman turned off the Batplane's jets and once it dropped in front of Chemo, he reactivated them and blasted Chemo in the face. Chemo was enraged and shot at the Batplane. Green Arrow set off in the Arrow Mech to stop Chemo.
Chemo ignored Arrow Mech's arrival and energy arrows and continued freezing Gotham. The Arrow Mech fired a powered energy blast and disabled the arm cannon. Chemo shed the cannon and charged the mech. It extended its arms and fashioned itself into a slingshot and launched into the Arrow Mech. Green Arrow did a quick scan of which buildings were owned by Queen Industries and verified they were all evacuated. He tossed Chemo into one the Queen Industries buildings that supposedly needed to be rennovated anyway. It headed inside but Chemo spit acid on a column and collpased the building. After Arrow Mech emerged, Chemo disabled its right arm with acid then its legs. Unable to move, Arrow was willing to call a draw. Luckily, Bat Mech arrived and decked Chemo with an uppercut. They traded blows but Chemo's spinning attack disabled Bat Mech's left arm. Batman activated its self-destruct mechanism and tossed it at Chemo. He quickly had the Bat Mech attach Arrow Mech's left arm. He powered the energy cannon and fired it.
To Green Arrow's surprise, the attack cracked a hole in Chemo's chest. No one had previously been able to do that. Bat Mech repeatedly punched the crack. Green Arrow left his mech and went for the high ground. He fired several exploding trick arrows into the crack. Bat Mech grabbed its gas pump gun and filled its tank to 100% with Chemo's sludge. Chemo went dormant and shrank. The police took it into custody. One night, Chemo chased after Nightwing while he was on the Batcycle. Nightwing dodged every blast and car thrown at him. Once Batman hailed him, they came up with an ad hoc plan and led their pursuers onto a collision course. Killer Croc and Chemo unwittingly crashed into each other and collapsed in the middle of a street.
