Adam Strange is a scientist employed by S.T.A.R. Labs and participant in the Erdel Initiative. He also helps the Justice League by maintaining their Zeta Beam technology. He was given the designation A-11. On December 1st, 10:10 Mountain Standard Time (MST), he was present in Taos when Nightwing, Wonder Girl, and Sphere arrived with Blue Beetle. Once Blue Beetle was scanned and assigned a designation, Strange gave them the green lit and they took the Zeta-Tube to Gotham City. During a routine Zeta Tube upgrade, Strange was accidentally teleported to Rann. He met Sardath and after weeks learned of stolen Zeta technology and signals between Rann and 14 locations on Earth. However, Strange only had a beginner's understanding of Rannian language and was taken with Sardath's daughter Alanna. Before Strange returned to Earth, Sardath gave him a device that would accurately detect Zeta radiation.
On January 3rd, 17:08 Eastern Standard Time (EST), Martian Manhunter presented Strange at a meeting and he explained his trip to Rann. Strange also revealed Rann had an active planetary alert in regard to the Justice League. As part of a two pronged attack, Strange teleported himself and Zeta Squad (Superboy, Miss Martian, and Beast Boy) to Rann on January 4th. At 22:17 UTC, Strange introduced the squad to Sardath and Alanna. During the trip to the outskirts of Ranagar, Strange broke off from the others to distract the Rannian Science Patrol. Eventually, Strange lost them and returned to Sardath to help him work on the Zeta Shield. On January 6th, 09:58 Mountain Standard Time (MST), Strange and the Zeta Squad teleported to S.T.A.R. Labs in Taos. Strange presented specifications for Sardath's Zeta Shield. On February 13th, he and co-worker Eduardo Dorado Sr. activated the Zeta Shield with Captain Atom's approval.
On April 9th, 00:20 Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), Strange stood in attendance with several members of the Team in a room at S.T.A.R. Labs while Miss Martian mentally verified Green Beetle's story through a mind link. On May 13th, Strange was present in the Zeta Lab when crates of Amazo parts arrived from the Justice League. On May 23rd, 20:30 MDT, Strange attended a meeting with Green Beetle, Captain Atom, and Nightwing. On June 20th, Adam Strange took Miss Martian and Superboy to Rimbor to exonerate the Justice League. After some convincing, the Justice League was cleared of all charges and released. Strange later attended the briefing in Metropolis at 08:16 EDT. He was assigned to Zeta Squad with Rocket.
