Tom Kalmaku is a technician stationed at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. On August 19th, 20:48 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Kalmaku was unable to stop a scheduled launch and learned the command center's systems were hacked. His superior, Carol Ferris, was not pleased. Over five years later, on March 19th, Kalmaku was present at mission control to oversee the launch of the Earth-Mars-Communication-Satellite.
