Metropolis is an American city located on the east coast. Its nickname is "The City of Tomorrow." It serves as headquarters to the Daily Planet and LexCorp and host to a branch of Wayne Tech. The most well-known superhuman resident of the city is Superman. On June 1, 1998, Superman made his debut in Metropolis and Clark Kent started working at the Daily Planet. At 19:38 EDT, he was recorded on GBS. On November 28, 19:41 EST, Superman defeated the Mechanical Monsters.
On August 3rd, 07:00 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Penny Randall waited for the school bus. Charlie Daggett pulled up in it and greeted her. They were all bummed school was the next stop. Daggett told them no fussing and frowning on his bus, only nice big smiles. At 7:38 EDT, a bridge accident garnered the attention of Superman and Superboy. From a nearby Wayne Enterprises building, Bruce Wayne observed the pair's interaction. Klarion arrived and took the bus as his anchor. He appeared on the panel instruments and told Daggett the skateboard was now his. Daggett managed to ask him if he meant "bus." Klarion was annoyed then recalled he reminded him of Teekl then teleported. At 7:42 EDT, the school bus returned to its place on the bridge. Everyone was elated. Penny Randall asked if she could finally use the bathroom. Several hours later, at 21:18 EDT, Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent met at Bibbo's for a discussion about Superboy.
On August 14th, 01:45 EDT, the Team met up at Bibbo's Diner to go over intelligence and plan their next move in an assignment given to them by Captain Atom. On October 1st, 08:08 EDT, a giant Plant Creature appeared and began attacking anyone and anything in its path. As Superman, Hawkman, Hawkwoman, and Green Lantern (John Stewart) fought the beast in Metropolis, Batman arrived at Mount Justice to brief the Team on the Kobra Venom investigation. On October 23rd, at 17:28 EDT, the Forever People boomed to Metropolis in search of stolen technology. Intergang, meanwhile, was using the technology to rob the Metropolis Federal Reserve. They were stopped by Superboy, Wolf, and the Forever People. On November 1st, 18:46 EDT, Team Year One, Red Arrow learned from a GBS report that Blue Beetle joined the Justice League in the midst of Guardian, Black Canary, Green Arrow, and the Team shadowing Lex Luthor in shifts.
On November 30th, Team Year Four, Draaga appeared in Metropolis and challenged Superman to single combat. Superman attempted to refuse but Draaga would not accept anything short of a fight. Superman and Superboy barely defeated Draaga. Four city blocks were destroyed in the process. He left without a word and never revealed how he heard of Superman. On December 1st, Team Year Five, Noor Harjavti of the Quraci Democratic Party stopped in Metropolis to raise funds. The Team hid among the crowd and were on the look out for any of Queen Bee's assassins. Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen were also on hand to cover the event for the Daily Planet. Kent sighted Devastation and rushed off to change into Superman but a teleportation beam took both of them along with Superboy. Miss Martian boarded the Bio-Ship to investigate Zeta radiation on the Moon while Beta Squad watched over Harjavti. However, things got worse when Brainiac's Ship descended upon Metropolis and a force field formed around most of the city, cutting off communications and local Zeta-Tubes. Approximately four million were trapped inside.
Zatanna, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Atom, and Plastic Man arrived and were all unable to breach the field. To make matters worse, the field breached the containment pod holding Match and released him. Black Lightning and Jim Harper elected to investigate the probe and shut it down. Plastic Man maintained visual communication with Batgirl but Match suddenly appeared from underground. at 17:30 EST. At 17:45 EST, Martian Manhunter, Flash, and Atom decided to enter the second alien vessel. At 17:54 EST, Black Lightning and Harper emerged from the hole created by the probe and reported they were unable to affect it. Black Lightning requested aid from Beta Squad to attack it from the inside out. Bumblebee and Beast Boy left Noor Harjavti with her bodyguard and Bibbo in Bibbo's Diner. At 18:16 EST, they descended the hole made by the probe as Black Lightning and Jim Harper dealt with looters and rioters near Whelmed Electronics and Batgirl figured out a way to neutralize Match.
Meanwhile, the Collector of Worlds was convinced to halt his objective after discovering Superman was a true Kryptonian and his force field generator probe was being tampered with. The Collector disengaged his reduction beam and Metropolis was left 20% smaller. The Collector was convinced not to take Metropolis and he restored it to its regular size. On January 5th, Team Year Six, Blue Beetle and Bumblebee entered Bibbo's Diner in Metropolis to capture the Krolotean posing as Bibbo Bibbowski. The Krolotean escaped and drove its vehicle to a harbor where it was picked up by the Manta Flyer. On March 21st, the original Roy Harper teleported to Metropolis and fired on LexCorp from a roof top opposite corporate headquarters. After a tense stand off, Luthor was spared and Harper left the site with a cybernetic arm. On June 13th, 20:28 EDT, Toyman robbed a branch of the First Bank of Metropolis but he was defeated by Blue Beetle in two minutes. Cat Grant interviewed Blue Beetle after the police took Toyman into custody. On June 20th, 08:16 EDT, 40 heroes gathered in Metropolis to attend a briefing on the Magnetic Field Disrupters.
On July 29th, 22:16 EDT, Team Year Eight, Jefferson Pierce tucked his daughters Jennifer and Anissa Pierce in their beds in his ex-wife's home. He told Lynn Stewart-Pierce he was retiring from being a hero but she was skeptical. As soon as he stepped outside, Dick Grayson approached him for a mission but Pierce declined. On July 30th, 00:00 EDT, Artemis Crock arrives in Metropolis's Centennial Park via Zeta-Tube where Grayson was waiting. Pierce arrived soon after and stated he was only doing the one mission. They boarded the Super-Cycle and flew into the Zeta-Tube. On August 1st, 10:38 EDT, Pierce called Grayson across the street from the Luthor Grande Hotel in Metropolis but only got his voice mail. Pierce admitted he didn't know what to do with Jace and was taking her out for brunch. He got them hot dogs. She admitted it was a nice change of pace from eating "gamey" food in Markovia. He encouraged her to make a new start in Metropolis and pointed out its nickname was the "City of Tomorrow." She was more worried about Halo and Brion Markov. He assured her he understood since he had two children of his own.
On September 8th, 18:21 EDT, Dr. Jace received a text from Pierce, who was in the lobby. They went out for dinner and the discussion touched on her time in Markovia and the progress Halo and Geo-Force were making. On September 25th, Pierce visited Jace's hotel room. On January 25th, 20:21 EST, Team Year Nine, Lex Luthor made a call after he saw hashtag WeAreAllOutsiders was still ahead of the hashtag InfinityInc. At 21:40 EST, Jefferson Pierce's spirits lifted after visiting his daughters and seeing Jennifer and Anissa dress up as Bumblebee and Black Lightning respectively. On February 15th, 018:35 EST, Deathstroke and Lex Luthor met in person at Lexcorp to go over the fallout of Markovia. On February 28th, 15:04 EST, Saturn Girl, Chameleon Boy, and Phantom Girl dodged a school bus possessed by Klarion outside Bibbo's Diner. At 16:16 EST, a private party at Bibbo's was underway. In attendance are Kaldur'ahm, Wyynde, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Raquel Ervin, Amistad, Zatanna Zatara, Will Harper, Lian Nguyen-Harper, Artemis Crock, Connor Kent, and Megan Morse.
On May 14th, 05:40 EDT, Team Year Ten, Clark Kent went to Bibbo's Diner. He was approached by Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy. They went along with Kent's charade and waited in the air near the top of the Daily Planet. Superman arrived, keeping up appearances. Saturn Girl went along with it and asked him to thank Clark for them. She revealed they had a lot to explain and wanted to create a telepathic link but Superman refused since he didn't know them well enough. They explained their mission to the present was to prevent the death of Superboy, how they lost their comrade Phantom Girl on Mars, and Bio-Ship offered her help getting them to Earth. Superman was convinced since Bio-Ship was willing to help. They explained further the untimely death of Superboy had a disastrous effect on the 31st century and created a great disaster. Saturn Girl instructed him to be in Happy Harbor in 10 years at exactly 12 noon. He asked what he had to do. They only hinted to ask himself, "What would Superboy do?"
Black Lightning hailed Superman on comms and he left to deal with the Pillar of Fire in Agra. Chameleon Boy was discouraged nothing happened but Saturn Girl speculated there was no instant reset because the multiple dousings of chronoton radiation took them far outside the original timeline. On September 5th, 19:48 EDT, Clark Kent went to Bibbo's Diner, and was approached by Dick Grayson and Zee Zatara. On September 9th, 19:47 EDT, Nightwing, Rocket, Aquaman, Zatanna, and Tigress arrived at a salvage yard in search of the school bus once possessed by Klarion. However, it was already compacted. Zatanna summoned Trogowogs. The others quickly gathered them up but Zatanna teased they did almost as well as her proteges. A deal was struck for them to restore the bus in exchange for having any vehicle of their choosing and Nightwing's bag of Chicken Whizees. The Trogowogs were given Nightwing's SUV and the Whizees but Zatanna sent them back to their realm before they could drive out of the yard.
Tigress asked about Miss Martian. Nightwing admitted he hated keeping the mission a secret from Miss Martian but he didn't want to get her hopes up if they were wrong about Superboy. Kaldur'ahm offered his magic to Zatanna as she prepared to open the portal to the Phantom Zone. They donned their Space-Belts and crossed over. On September 14th, 00:16 EDT, only Tigress, Zatanna, and Aquaman returned to the school bus in Metropolis. Dru-Zod got an idea to hold a public execution of Superman in Metropolis. Dru-Zod, Emerald Empress, Lor-Zod, Superboy, and Ma'alefa'ak boomed to the Planet Circle area. Empress got things started by blasting the Daily Planet's globe. Ma'alefa'ak used telekinesis to move the cameras towards Dru-Zod. At 05:46 EDT, Dru-Zod gave a speech vowing to bring Earth to galactic supremacy and ordered Superboy to execute Superman. Superboy could not bring himself to do it. Dru-Zod's words reminded Superboy that Superman was family, too. He prepared to use Kryptonite on both but Kid Flash ran by and snatched it.
Tigress, Zatanna, and Aquaman arrived in the school bus hidden by glamour and rammed Lor-Zod. Police officers evacuated citizens at the circle. Dru-Zod had Ma'alefa'ak open a Boom Tube to the Phantom Zone with the Mother Box-Kaizer Thrall. Faora Hu-Ul and Non came through first. Dru-Zod informed her the injuries would heal under the yellow sun. Faora reports Zod's army was gathering and would arrive within the hour. They were attacked. Zatanna cast a ring of fire around Ma'alefa'ak. From the sewers, Kaldur'ahm formed a hard-water eel construct and grabbed the Thrall. The Boom Tube closed. Dru-Zod easily caught Tigress's arrow then threw a car at her. Kid Flash grabbed her. Ma'alefa'ak sensed Zatanna's presence and brain blasted her, which also extinguished the fire. Kid Flash tried to steal the Eye of Ekron but he was electrocuted upon making contact. Non grabbed Tigress. Kaldur'ahm went for Dru-Zod, but he was tackled by Superboy. Danny Chase's consciousness was restored but Ma'alefa'ak soon invaded his mental space. Zatanna cast a spell to burn the Eye, but she quickly realized her magic was ineffectual.
Baby arrived and blasted the Zods. Nightwing came to Tigress's aid to take on Non. To her chagrin, he advised her they had to take out Non before the sun rose or he would become difficult to stop. Phantom Girl and Chameleon Boy ran interference on Ma'alefa'ak. Chameleon Boy was eager for his rematch and they fought each other as Ma'alefa'ak creatures. Miss Martian approached Superboy and restored his mind to normal. Zatanna requested some help. Nightwing tasked Miss Martian with running interference on Empress, Zatanna with helping Superman, he and Tigress would handle Non, and Kaldur'ahm with keeping Dru-Zod occupied. Miss Martian sent a motorcycle at her, while Zatanna healed Superman from Kryptonite poisoning. Lor-Zod threw Baby into a Chicken Whizee awning. Dru-Zod threw Kaludur'ahm into Zatanna before she could cast. Dru and Lor-Zod took on Superman and Superboy. Superboy offered Dru-Zod a chance to surrender as thanks for saving him in the Phantom Zone. The Zods refused to surrender and they fought.
The Emerald Empress trapped Miss Martian in a ring of fire and ripped her heart out of her chest. It was just an illusion. Miss Martian brain blasted and rendered her unconscious. The Eye reacted and fell to the ground. Saturn Girl came to Danny Chase's aid on the mental plane. Phantom Girl phase shifted Ma'alefa'ak half-way into the sidewalk and with Saturn Girl's prompting, Chase figuratively and literally kicked Ma'alefa'ak out of his mind. Superman observed the Zods weren't in sync with each other. Superman and Superboy performed their combo move. Superman chucked Superboy into Dru-Zod then he tackled Lor-Zod but he countered Superboy with a punch and heat vision. Miss Martian grabbed him, told him to stop trying to kill her man and brain blasted him. Chase opened a Boom Tube to the Phantom Zone horizontally on the ground. Tigress and Nightwing performed the West Maneuver and knocked Non into the tube. Faora rushed them but she was suddenly trapped in a force bubble. Rocket was back via Time-Sphere. She dropped Faora into the tube.
Chase had the Kaizer-Thrall blast Ma'alefa'ak into the tube. Miss Martian had one last message for her brother. She entered his mind and reminded him he was glad Conner Kent "died". Superman and Superboy punched Dru-Zod, in unison, into the Boom Tube. Ursa Zod was bereft at the developments. The Eye created a bubble around her and flew off into space despite her protests. Lor-Zod made a beeline for the Time-Sphere and teleported away. A group of Justice Leaguers and Outsiders arrived consisting of Blue Beetle, Shazam, Red Tornado, Black Canary, and Wonder Girl. Black Canary and the others were shocked to see Superboy was alive and asked if it was all over. The Legionnaires disagreed and were inconsolable with being right back to where they started when they first came to the present. Everyone watched as the Sun rose. On September 15th, 14:42 EDT, Clark Kent watched "Stargirl" in his apartment. He quickly tried to turn the TV when Superboy came up. Jonny Kent still heard it in the hall way and was excited. With Lois Lane, they told their son about Superboy not being dead after all then they watched Conner Kent and M'gaan M'orzz's wedding invitation video.
