Spainiards came across an arid basin but discovered underground wells that supported meadows. They named it Las Vegas. When it fell into US control, it became a famous railroad town in the 1900's. The completion of the Hoover Dam in 1936, sparked the rapid growth of the Las Vegas Strip and casino-hotels. The money generated from tourism is accompanied by the federal government who established Nellis Air Force Base.
On August 13th, at 20:12 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), Superboy and Wally West posed as journalism students and arranged to meet with Henry Yarrow. They found Yarrow at a Blackjack table and proceeded to talk about the Captain Adams case. On August 14th, 00:18 PDT, part of the Team staked out Yarrow's residence. An explosion destroyed the home. It was set off by Alec Rois, the body was of former co-conspirator Enos Polk, and intelligence was planted to tip them to a trap at an airfield in St. George, Utah.
