Gotham City Academy is a private school located on the outskirts of Gotham City. It is a six year school that offers from 7th to 12th grade and is known to cater to the children of Gotham's rich elite. The Academy, itself, is famous for holding high scholastic standards and a wide-range of extra-curricular activities. One of its known students is Dick Grayson, who holds the distinction of 2011 Mathlete Honoree. On August 3rd, 21:21 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), a battle between Amazo and Superboy spilled over into the Academy and caused extensive property damage. It concluded in the gym where Amazo and Professor Ivo were defeated by the Team. On August 27th, Artemis Crock received a letter from the Academy's Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, Philip Wilcox, stating she was being awarded a full Wayne Foundation scholarship to Gotham City Academy.
The first day of school took place on September 22nd. Artemis Crock was shown around by her new student liaison, Bette Kane. Dick Grayson briefly stepped in to take a photo with Artemis. She was unaware of Grayson's alter ego, Robin, and Kane dismissed it as a typical freshman stunt. Grayson's friend, Barbara Gordon was not pleased with the act either.
