Cape Canaveral is a point of land in Florida discovered by the Spanish. Presently, it is located in Brevard County, Florida and is famous for serving as a launch site for U.S. spacecraft. On August 19th, a satellite containing a payload for measuring the Ozone layer was scheduled to be launched. However, it was commandeered by the League of Shadows and outfitted with a diamond lens. The control tower was powerless to stop the launch and witnessed Batman and Robin battle the League, its leader Ra's Al Ghul, Ubu, and Talia Al Ghul. Batman and Robin managed to disarm the satellite but Ra's Al Ghul died in battle. The League retreated with his body. Over five years later, on March 19th, near midnight, the Earth-Mars-Communication-Satellite was scheduled to launch. Carol Ferris and Martian Manhunter held a press conference at 21:00 EDT. Soon after, Black Manta's forces attacked and battled with the Team. However, the rocket still was destroyed and Artemis was seemingly killed in action.
