Atabey's Shrine is a pre-Columbian temple - circa 8th century B.C. - located on Santa Prisca dedicated to Atabey, goddess of water and fertility. At some point in Team Year Five, Lex Luthor began overseeing a mining operation deep below the shrine. He modified the entire temple with LexCorp tech. On February 17th, Team Year Five, Aquaman was on Santa Prisca investigating the sudden rise of toxic metals in the water and soil. Aquaman's last communication to the Watchtower was in the vicinity of Atabey's Shrine before he was captured by Bane and the Light. Alpha Squad, led by Aqualad, defeated Bane and entered the shrine in search of Aquaman. After fighting through Black Manta Troopers and LexCorp robots, Alpha discovered an ancient elevator and fought their way down to the temple drilling site. Just as Lex Luthor and Black Manta secured a fragment of the Tiamat statue, Alpha made their move. After disabling the Manta Sub, freeing Aquaman, and defeating Black Manta, they left the temple in pursuit of Luthor and the fragment.
