The Bat Signal is a modified Klieg searchlight stationed on the roof of Gotham City Police Department Headquarters. On the orders of Commissioner Gordon, it was affixed with the symbol of Batman and used during high profile cases that warranted Batman's assistance. It also has the extra benefit of striking fear into the hearts of criminals as it shines in the Gotham sky. On August 27th, 2009, Batman and Talia Al Ghul met near the Bat Signal but soon parted ways when Talia refused to stop serving her father.
