A white alpha male wolf and its pack were captured by the Brain and Monsieur Mallah. They were subjected to Kobra Venom then outfitted with Proprietary Collars. On September 23rd, Superboy fought the pack and won. After destroying the wolf's collar, Superboy and the wolf met up with the Team to rescue Captain Marvel. Unlike the other animals, the wolf did not return to the wild and seemed to like Superboy. Superboy decided to keep him. Passing on Kid Flash's suggestion of Krypto for a name, Superboy decided to simply name it Wolf.
On September 26th, Wolf went with the Team to investigate a possible Kobra Venom operation in Bwunda. During an encounter with enhanced gorillas, Wolf walked off into the jungle and avoided capture. He was later reunited with Miss Martian and the rest of the Team during their assault on Gorilla City. On October 1st, Wolf accompanied the Team on a mission to the Louisiana Bayou. He primarily fought Ultra-Humanite and Black Adam in tandem with Superboy. On October 10th, Captain Marvel was misled to take Wolf out of the Cave to play. However, Wolf was more interested in Marvel's nacho snack than a game of fetch. On November 11th, Wolf accompanied Superboy on an assault on a Flying Ice Fortress with Black Canary and Red Tornado. On November 25th, Wolf accompanied Superboy to Washington D.C. to meet with a mysterious person who broadcasted on a frequency to him. He turned out to be Lex Luthor. Together, Superboy and Wolf investigated Project Cadmus and met another Super-Clone named Match. Wolf was no match for Match. He later aided the Team in inoculating the Justice League, freeing them of Starrotech.
Over five years later, on January 5th, 05:57 Eastern European Time (EET), Wolf was assigned to Beta Squad with Bumblebee and Batgirl. They teleported to Vlatavastok and raided a suspected Krolotean base. On February 13th, Wolf accompanied Superboy, Blue Beetle, and Super-Cycle in what turned into a battle with Intergang and the newly created Appellaxian Golem. On April 1st, 21:15 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Wolf settled in to the temporary living quarters set up by Nightwing in Bludhaven. On May 26th, Wolf accompanied the Team to the Warworld and was assigned to Alpha Squad, the unit set to confront Mongul. On June 20th, Wolf was assigned to Rho Squad with Superboy to disable a Magnetic Field Disrupter.
