As part of his plan to attack the Justice League at their Secret Sanctuary, the Joker employed over a dozen Monkey Clowns. Resembling a chimpanzee, their fur coats are green and their faces are in a fixed grin to match the motif of the Joker. They were outfitted with purple backpacks that could either shoot gas grenades, emit Joker Toxin, or explode when triggered by the Joker. He placed the Monkey Clowns in a giant present box and wheeled it near the Secret Sanctuary's Zeta-Beam Teleporter Tubes. The Flash, Hawkman, and Martian Manhunter were the first to see it. The Flash decided to open it and released the Monkey Clowns. It is likely they were confiscated by the Justice League after the incursion.
