On February 13th, Ugly Mannheim used an Apokoliptian device on the Appellaxian Host Bodies displayed in the Hall of Justice. The device combined the residual psychic energies of its former hosts and a Golem was created. Mannheim planned to use it as his enforcer and expand the reach of Intergang. Unwilling to deal with the Justice League, Mannheim ordered the Golem to take him and Whisper away. The Golem flew them to Arlington. Superboy, Blue Beetle, Wolf, and Super-Cycle pursued them and attempted to take control of the Golem. Super-Cycle generated a frequency to cancel out the device controlling it. The Golem destroyed the device and proceeded to kill itself by inducing a meltdown at the Arlington Power Plant because the combination of four elemental bodies caused the consciousness great pain. Blue Beetle was able to adjust his sonic cannon to communicate with the Golem and learned its plight. However, Partner fired a weapon from nearby and killed the Golem.
