Professor Strange is gifted with a brilliant deductive mind and extensive knowledge of psychology. Strange's greatest asset is his brain. He later became the prison psychiatrist of Belle Reve Penitentiary and claimed to be sincere in the rehabilitation of the criminals. After the Terror Twins arrived on September 16th, Strange held a session with them and attempted to unravel the source of their antisocial tendencies. On orders of the Light, Strange smuggled in weapons for Mr. Freeze, Captain Cold, and Icicle Senior. When the prisoners staged a break out, Strange saved Warden Amanda Waller's life twice, from Brick and Icicle Senior. Once order was restored, Strange took over the prison as its warden.
On October 10th, as a favor for helping with the riot, Strange gave the Team five minutes to interrogate Professor Ivo. He monitored the session via security camera. After the Team left, Strange and Ivo issued a warning to T.O. Morrow that his location was compromised. On November 13th, Strange was visited by Batman and Flash. They believed the five ice villains had a role in the five Flying Ice Fortresses that blanketed the states in snow. Strange assured them they were all in their prison cells during the event. On December 4th, Strange disabled Belle Reve's exterior security system so that Sportsmaster could infiltrate the facility. With Professor Ivo temporarily gone, Strange carefully presided over Ivo's robot duplicate. At the end of December, the Light notified Strange the Justice League knew of his affiliation. Before Strange fled Belle Reve, he opened all the doors releasing all prisoners.
