Baran Flinders was born in 1992 and took on the codename Mammoth then became the Kobra Cult's champion at age 18. When the Kobra Venom was first produced, Flinders was injected with one ampoule of the drug on June 19th. He was permanently transformed into a super strong monstrosity. He easily defeated Bane in one-on-one combat. Over a month later, on July 22nd, Mammoth was ultimately defeated by Aqualad who electrocuted him into submission.
On September 7th, Mammoth released several animals from their pens at the Central City Zoo. During the chaos, he proceeded to the Reptile Center Lab and stole concentrated cobra venom. However, he left a footprint discovered by Kid Flash. Kid Flash recovered non-local pollen sample from the footprint which led he and Flash to Minneapolis. On September 11th, 21:48 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), Mammoth and several Kobra cultists kidnapped Dr. Jason Burr from the Gotham City Observatory. On September 12th, Mammoth stood by Kobra's side during a ritual in an abandoned New Age Monastery in Minneapolis. Mammoth was imprisoned at Belle Reve Penitentiary and fell in with Icicle Senior. During the mass break out attempt on September 17th, Mammoth disabled the interior defense system and its operator. He was later frozen by a misguided Icicle Junior. On December 30th, Mammoth appeared in the Smokey Mountains to aid Riddler in a planned ambush. He was soon vastly overpowered by Superboy, who was empowered by a Shield, and detained alongside Shimmer and Riddler.
On December 1st, Team Year Five, Mammoth was among those taken by Kylstar. Some time later, Mammoth was freed along with the others. He elected to return home and evaded arrest thanks to Grodd. As of Team Year Six, Mammoth worked for Queen Bee and aided in a scheduled delivery from a secret Bialyan compound. When Alpha Squad intervened, Mammoth crippled the airplane holding the cargo by destroying a wing with a fork lift. However, Wonder Girl, Miss Martian, and the Bio Ship carried the plane to safety. On June 14th, Mammoth attacked the Super-Cycle as it entered the facility. Mammoth was actually under orders by Queen Bee to throw the fight. He was sent down a hole with Devastation by Zatanna. Mammoth participated in the Bialyan invasion of Qurac. He briefly pursued a group of Quarcis, including Gabrielle Daou. On November 1st, 01:44 UTC+3, Team Year Eight, Onslaught was present as part of a security force protecting a meta-human auction held in an abandoned mall in Al-Qawiya.
Devastation ordered Mammoth and Shimmer to check out the explosion and kill whoever caused it. Forager and Bio-Ship blasted at them outside the mall. Mammoth charged but was shot in the shoulders. He threw a car at Bio-Ship but missed and it hit the mall. Superboy ordered Forager, piloting Bio-Ship, to perform the West Maneuver. He complied and blasted Mammoth's ankles. Superboy clocked him. On November 11th, after 22:33 UTC+2, Team Year Ten, Mammoth was part of the Onslaught team waiting inside the Lexcorp Robotics factory in Madinat Altharwati for the Outsiders to arrive. Beast Boy took on the form of an elephant but took an uppercut from Mammoth. He turned into a gorilla but was grabbed by the throat. As Stargirl knocked Shimmer out with a left kick, Mammoth was temporarily distracted. Beast Boy turned into a Ma'alefa'ak and hurled Mammoth into Devastation. Wonder Girl got loose in time and tied them up with her lasso.
