Lobo is an intergalactic bounty hunter and refers to himself as "The Main Man." On January 1st, he arrived on Earth to capture a Krolotean. In accordance to his contract, Lobo was required to "put on a show for the locals." At 18:23 Eastern Standard Time (EST), Lobo pursued Secretary-General Tseng at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The Team's Beta Squad, comprised of Wonder Girl and Batgirl, happened to be in the area and was rerouted to save Tseng. When communication with Tseng in Interlac failed, Lobo activated his translator. Wonder Girl and Batgirl arrived but were no match for Lobo. In the General Assembly, Lobo ripped Tseng apart and revealed a Krolotean operating a puppet. Lobo restrained the Krolotean on his Spacehog and left Earth.
