The criminal Red Hood later became The Joker in 2000. The Joker engaged in psychopathic crimes. He still is a murderer but his actions are planned, calculated, and executed with a certain flair and sophistication.
Six years later, the Joker managed to learn the location of the Justice League's headquarters, the Secret Sanctuary, in Happy Harbor by following Snapper Carr. He rendered Carr unconscious and tied him up. The Joker then wheeled in a giant present filled with Monkey Clowns near the Sanctuary's Zeta-Beam Teleporter Tubes. Soon enough, it was opened by the Flash. Martian Manhunter attempted to use telepathy to defeat the Joker but his mind was overwhelmed by the psychopath. The Joker then blasted Manhunter and Hawkman with a toy ray gun. Eager to face Batman alone, the Joker's plan was disrupted by the arrival of Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow, and Hawkwoman. He then set the Monkey Clowns' backpacks to detonate. It is unknown what happened next.
Four years later, the 32 year old Joker is a member of the Injustice League. He supplied his Joker Venom as part of an experiment on Plant Creatures. When commanded, they release his Joker Venom gas through their spores. On October 1st, the Joker remotely operated the Plant Creatures in several cities simultaneously. He was livid the League's plans were defeated by the Team but took the opportunity to fight Robin. When the Justice League arrived, Batman disarmed him of his knives. Rather than accept defeat, the Joker forced several plant spores to emit his Joker Venom gas. Batman rendered him unconscious while Dr. Fate siphoned the gas through a portal.
