The Hook is a member of the League of Shadows and his namesake refers to a retractable hook grafted to one of his wrists. On July 8th, the Hook was one of four assassins assigned to murder chief officers of companies with business ties to Project Cadmus. On July 9th, 19:54 Central Daylight Time (CDT), the Hook and Black Spider appeared in Central City to assassinate a CEO named Selena Gonzalez. Aqualad rendered Hook unconscious by summoning water from a restroom on the floor above them and blasting him with it. While on route to a maximum holding facility, he and Black Spider escaped custody.
On August 8th, the Hook was one of three members of the Shadows routed to Happy Harbor, Rhode Island in order to prevent Dr. Serling Roquette from uploading a virus to counteract their latest weapon. The Hook was ultimately defeated when Miss Martian used telekinesis to redirect his hook and render him unconscious. The Hook and Black Spider were captured and turned over to the authorities. The Hook was incarcerated at Belle Reve Penitentiary. During a mass break out attempt, the Hook guarded master control with Professor Ojo and Abra Kadabra. He was frozen into a wall by a misguided Icicle Junior.
