On November 30th, Team Year Four, Draaga appeared in Metropolis and challenged Superman to single combat. Superman attempted to refuse but Draaga would not accept anything short of a fight. Superman and Superboy barely defeated Draaga but four city blocks were destroyed in the battle. He left without a word and never revealed how he heard of Superman. On December 1st, Team Year Five, Draaga was among those imprisoned in containers on Kylstar's ship. After being freed and hearing Kylstar's story, Draaga decided to stay and help battle his enemies.
