DeSaad is god scientist and chief torturer on Apokolips. DeSaad's experiments are evil and his works are abominations. He also prefers to slowly kill his victims and enemies. At some point in the present, DeSaad outfitted Intergang on Earth with technology from both New Genesis and Apokolips. The weapons cache included a rescue drill and harnesses with multiple offensive capabilities, ability to mask heat signatures, a visor to filter out illusions, and the ability to resist magnetic manipulation. DeSaad hid among Intergang in a robot suit disguised as an Intergang member. Back at the weapons cache, DeSaad revealed himself and ordered Ugly Mannheim to toss a Father Box at the Forever People as they merged to become Infinity-Man. Programmed with DeSaad's sadistic proclivities, the Father Box turned Infinity-Man against Superboy and Wolf. Luckily, Super-Cyle was able to take control and with Superboy, they disarmed Intergang. Not one to take defeat, DeSaad threw out an explosive and left Earth. On July 5th, Team Year Six, DeSaad was in Darkseid's presence when Vandal Savage arrived with the Warworld.
