The Invisible Jet is composed of a "morphing crystal" that was developed scientifically by subterranean beings called the Lansinarians. The Lansinarians were blind and could not react quickly enough to changes in their environment. So they developed a life support device: the morphing crystal that catered to their needs. The crystal is a shape-changing device that can take many forms. These beings later bestow the device to the Amazons in gratitude for saving them.
When Queen Hippolyta decreed that Steve Trevor be returned to the outside world, the Amazons used Trevor's fighter plane as a model and created their own. The plane is able to render itself invisible. Diana used it to travel to New York with Trevor and is her current mode of transportation.
