One year after he left for Africa, Professor Macalester returned to Detroit with the Fire Totem. A news reporter spoke about his return in a breaking news flash. Just as Mari McCabe regained consciousness in a hospital room, Chuck was by her side. She noticed a news report was on the television. The same news reporter revealed thieves broke into the Detroit Museum of Natural History late last night and a spokesperson confirmed an unspecified number of gemstones were stolen, including one of the Lost Totems of Zambesi. She continued and stated museum officials refused to speculate on something about the totem but Chuck turned the set off.
