Robin, the Boy Wonder, is the codename of Batman's most trusted partner in his war on crime. The first Robin was Dick Grayson, an orphaned acrobat. After several years, Grayson moved on to become a solo hero and called himself Nightwing. While in Crime Alley, Batman encountered a 13 year old Jason Todd, an orphaned juvenile delinquent, #129684273, trying to steal tires off the Batmobile. Concerned he would only become a criminal, Batman offered Todd a new home and purpose. He accepted and trained to become the next Robin. Todd made it known he was fearless, brash, arrogant, and gifted. On his first night as Robin, Todd hid behind the Batcave's data banks hoping to scare Batman and Alfred Pennyworth. Batman saw him and waited three minutes until Robin made himself known. As Robin, he enjoyed life and fought the likes of Riddler and saved Mayor Hamilton Hill's life at least once.

Three years later, Robin became more world weary and began to use excessive force on criminals. During a drug bust, he broke the collar bone of the last pimp and put him in shock. At the Batcave, Batman admonished him for letting a lead go but Robin concluded he still deserved it. Shortly after, Batman and Robin journeyed to Europe to fight Ra's Al Ghul but encountered Joker in Bosnia. Robin went after him alone and was kidnapped. The Joker deviated from Al Ghul's plan and beat Robin repeatedly with a crow bar. Robin was unable to escape capture and died in an explosion. Batman arrived too late and cradled his partner in his arms. He crafted a cover story that Todd died in a Sarajevo bombing. While his body lay in the United Nations Embassy, Al Ghul bribed a few officials and stole Todd's body. He intended to rectify his mistake by reviving Todd with the Lazarus Pit. Todd was resurrected but returned damaged and fled Al Ghul's compound. Batman honors his memory by keeping Todd's Robin costume on display in the Batcave.
