Vicky Vale is a reporter of Gotham TV News. After interviewing Bruce Wayne over dinner, Vale was invited to the Energy Expo at his mansion as his date. Vale accepted and the two met Count Dracula during the reception. Dracula was fixated on Vale and even found allure with her name. Meanwhile, Vale became concerned with Wayne and hoped she could get him to open up to her and start a meaningful relationship.
With the Batman hard at work in the Batcave trying to cure the Joker's infection, Bruce Wayne failed to appear for a date with Vale. On the way home, she was kidnapped by Dracula. Dracula chose to use her life essence to resurrect his bride. The Batman intervened and she escaped into the cemetary, chased by a brainwashed Penguin. Vale managed to elude the Penguin in time for the spell to break and a SWAT team to arrive and arrest him.
